Main characteristics
The Island of Akpatok is all apart of Akpatok National Park. The island is tundra and there are little to no plants. The island may have no plant life but don't be fooled, the park is a major bird migration location. Thousands of Thick-Billed murres come to the island every year and lay eggs on the famous steep limestone cliffs that range from 150 - 250 m high. The cliffs are broken in many places by deep ravines that go throughout the park.
